Department:     Banquet Kitchen

 

Supervisor:   Banquet Chef

 

Description: The Banquet Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation and monitoring of food for banquet functions according to the specifications given on the Banquet Event Order and the Banquet Chef.  In addition, Cooks are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment.  Assisting in the proper storage, rotation of inventory (FIFO) and the maintenance of cooking utensils.  Cooks will assist with off-property food production and working action stations (i.e. carving, saute, pasta stations, etc…).  All Cooks must have their own set of knives.

 

Qualifications: Previous experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or Cook is highly recommended.  Must have an understanding of kitchen operation.  Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. 

 

Important Personal Characteristics: Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.  Must be able to take orders well.  Must work well with little supervision.

 

Physical Requirements: This is a very active position.  It requires several hours of standing, moving and lifting heavy trays.
